🔮 Stay Hedged
Treasury Yields Hold at 5% While Stocks Stay Pricey — Options Are Cheap, Use Them
Day 3 at a hedged posture

Justification

Stocks look expensive relative to history, and that alone warrants caution. The trailing price-to-earnings ratio is higher than in roughly 77 out of every 100 months since 2006. The 10-year Treasury yield sits at 5.0%, keeping the cost of money high even after a two-week dip. The VIX, Wall Street's fear gauge, is 17.4 — below 20, which makes protective put options relatively cheap to buy right now. Use that low option cost to add downside protection on positions most exposed to rate pressure.

Since the Last Issue

  • Fear & Greed Index slipped from 34 to 33, staying in Fear territory for a third straight day
